These games have been highly anticipated so far, with some of them being sequels to great games that I have played before.

Without further ado, let’s jump right into this list of the most anticipated upcoming AAA games in 2022 I’m hyped about.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
Release Date: 18th October
Genre: Stealth-Adventure
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch
I have been hyped about A Plague Tale: Requiem ever since its trailers were dropped earlier this year.
A sequel to 2017’s A Plague Tale: Innocence, the story is set in 14th century France during the Black Plague. It follows siblings Amicuia and Hugo as they try to flee from hordes of rats devouring France to its core. All the while, they must also flee from the soldiers of the French Inquisition as well.
The gameplay is based around stealth and action, with you controlling Amicia to sneak around enemies and protect Hugo. This time, the siblings will travel to Southern France to find a cure for Hugo’s newfound superpowers related to the plague.
Now, you have an expanded arsenal, with new ways of taking down armor-clad Inquisition soldiers like crossbows and stealth takedowns. In addition, you can also use Hugo’s supernatural enemies, like a wall-hacking sonar.
Gotham Knights
Release Date: 21st October
Genre: Action-Adventure, Co-Op
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox series X/S
As a fan of the amazing Batman: Arkham games like Arkham City and Arkham Knight, this new Batman game got me pretty hyped. However, I was surprised to find out that you will not be able to play as the Dark Knight. Instead, you will be controlling Gotham Knights like Darkwing, Red Hood, Batgirl, and Robin.
Ever since the trailer explained the premise of the game, I added it to my wishlist immediately. Set in Gotham City, our beloved Caped Crusader has been kidnapped by a masked secret society known as The Court of Owls. Now, it’s time for his underlings to go and save their mentor from assassins called the Talons.
You can play this upcoming game 2022 solo or with one or three other friends in co-op mode. If you solo, you can swap between characters in-game, with all four playable characters having unique moves and combat styles.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Release Date: 28th October

I have been a fan of Call of Duty for a pretty long time, ever since I played Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Black Ops. However, the series soon became stale as it moved its setting to the future.
However, I soon became a teenager again ever since the rebooted Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare landed in 2019. And now, the time has come for me to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II as well.
With the gameplay and graphics being polished to perfection, I have been looking forward to this upcoming game for quite some time. This game will be tougher as developers Infinity Ward said that enemies would have a more advanced AI this time. Also, Gunsmith 2.0 will be introduced for greater weapons customization for the multiplayer mode.
Bayonetta 3
Release Date: 28th October
Genre: Action-Adventure, Hack n’ Slash
Platforms: Nintendo Switch
While many people slept over this game when Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 first launched for the Nintendo Wii in 2009 and 2014, it’s an underrated gem, in my opinion. Bayonetta combines the fast-paced, over-the-top action of games like Devil May Cry (being made by the same director – Hideki Kamiya).
You control Bayonetta, one of the sexiest and most badass women in gaming. You use guns, a mythical sword, and your hair to battle hordes of enemies in the slickest manner possible. Developers Platinum Games promises to double down on the action and scope of Bayonetta 3, all the while making guys swoon over Bayonetta as the perfect dominatrix.
God of War: Ragnarok
Release Date: 9th November
Genre: Action-Adventure
Platforms: PS5
Okay, let me say it clearly – God of War (2018) is by far the best game I’ve played in my life. Upon seeing the teaser trailer for God of War: Ragnarok and a slight tease of Mjolnir and Tyr, I jumped around my room in happiness.
Set three years after the events of the previous game, Kratos and his son Atreus must find a way to stop Ragnarok, the prophesied armageddon. However, Norse gods like Thor, Freya, and Odin have been on their hunt ever since they killed their sons Baldur, Magni, and Modi.
This time, you have an expanded arsenal with you, with both the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos right from the get-go. You will also be able to use different shields with various effects. However, I am hyped for the exploration of this game, which will take you around all nine realms, including Asgard.
Valkyrie Elysium
Release Date: 11th November
Genre: Action-Adventure
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5
From developers Square Enix of my favorite JRPG Final Fantasy VII (though technically it should be Elden Ring) comes this. Valkyrie Elysium is a hack n’ slash JRPG that lets you go through the events of Ragnarok and save Asgard. It may sound familiar to God of War: Ragnarok, but it is what it is.
You play Valkyrie, a super-powered angel created by Odin to save Asgard and Valhalla from Ragnarok. It has all the common JRPG tropes, such as fast-paced action, leveling up, big boss fights, and an inventory/gear system.
However, I was interested in this after seeing its smooth combat and anime-inspired character designs (it’s a JRPG, after all). This upcoming game might not be too hyped, but I expect good things from this title.
Pokemon Scarlet And Violet
Release Date: 18th November
Genre: Turn-based RPG
Platforms: Nintendo Switch
I have been a fan of the series since I watched the anime as a five-year-old kid. However, I have been a fan of the games starting from the old Gameboy titles Pokemon FireRed and Pokemon Emerald.
In this ninth generation of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you get to explore the new region of Paldea. Many tropes of the series have been revamped, like how you can now battle the gym leaders in any order. You will get to explore using a legendary Pokemon as a bike (wow), catch new Pokemon, and become the new Pokemon master of Paldea.
The Callisto Protocol
Release Date: 2nd December
Genre: FPS, Survival-Horror
Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
Made by PUBG developers Krafton, The Callisto Protocol is a new Survival horror game inspired by the Dead Space series.
The premise is set in 2320, where you – a prisoner on Jupiter’s moon Calisto, must survive the alien invasion of the prison. The developers have said that this game will have “tense and creepy encounters” with aliens, along with frantic gunfights, stealth, and some of the scariest monsters you will ever see.
While only a bit of the gameplay has been revealed yet, I am looking forward to such 2022 upcoming games.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns

Genre: Tactical RPG

Since DC is about to release Gotham Knights, Marvel has decided to fight back and release Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
This is a turn-based tactical RPG game similar to the likes of the XCOM series. You will play ss the customizable Hunter – a superhero you create with varying abilities. You get to create a team filled with other Marvel heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and lots more. Your job – save the world from Lilith, the Mother of Demons, who has been raised from her slumber by HYDRA.
