Uber Flex, A New Feature In Uber For Indian Users
Tired of higher fares that necessary while booking your ride with Uber in India? Then this news might just be the solution to your problem. Uber India announced that they are working towards a new feature in Uber that let’s Indian customers choose their preferred rider based on the fares.
The new feature ‘Uber Flex’ is specially developed for Indian users allows them to select their preferred ride based on the fare. This new feature now is being tested in different cities in India which was developed to address the escalating fares in Uber rides.
Uber Flex will allow Indian users the flexibility to choose their rides based on the fare they are comfortable in paying. The drivers will also have the flexibility to accept the ride or decline it based on the given fare.
Although this feature is nothing original as another California-based cab service provide, InDrive provides this choice of selecting rides based on preferred fares. InDrive is already considered a much more affordable cab service than other major cab services in the Indian cities.
Uber started testing Uber Flex in October in Indian cities like Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jodhpur, Surat, Indore, Ajmer, Bareilly, Aurangabad, etc. Uber told TechCrunch, “ We are piloting this feature in some of the Tier 2 and 3 markets in India currently.”
Uber Flex feature will offer nine different fare options which Uber users can choose from based on their preference. Among these nine fares for booking rides one fare is set as a default price or initial price which cannot be lowered.
Once users select their preferred fare for their ride this request is shared with drivers nearby who can either choose or decline the ride based on the fare given. If the driver accepts the ride then the service is provided at the price selected by the user.
