Change It Using The Amazon Alexa Website

Here are the procedures to follow if you’d want to modify the Alexa wake word via the Amazon website:

  1. Open a web browser on your PC and go to the Amazon Alexa website. If you haven’t already, sign into your Amazon account.
  2. Choose Settings from the sidebar on the left.
  3. Choose your Alexa device from the Devices section on the right pane.
  4. To find the General section on your device’s page, scroll down. Click the Wake Word button here.
  5. From the drop-down selection for Alexa Device wake words, choose a new wake word. then select Save.

5. Update Alexa Firmware/Software

You should ensure you have the most recent device updates installed if your Alexa device is not responding. Go to the app’s settings, slide down to the About area, and do a manual check and update on your Alexa device there.

Notice the software version of the device. If your device’s version is lower than what is mentioned on the page, silence it and wait for the software update. Next, launch the browser and navigate to Alexa Software Versions.
