Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset Review

After using this headset for a few days, here’s what I have to say about the Logitech G Pro gaming headset:

Build Quality & Comfort

Build Quality & Comfort

If you saw the earlier Logitech G433 headset, then think of this as the same, with a revamped design. While the shape, design, and overall size are similar, the Logitech G Pro gaming headset has a matte-black coating. This gives it a more modern and premium feel.

Regarding its looks, this gaming headset radiates a premium feel. This is further accentuated by its memory foam earpads, which are soft to the touch compared to other gaming headsets.

The looks were simple and minimalistic, which is what I prefer. I typically like only a few RGB lights on any gadget I use. Therefore, this design is sober enough not to appear too flashy and over the top, a rarity compared to other gaming headsets.

The default earcups attached to this headset right out of the box are soft and large. Additionally, you get an extra pair of bigger and softer earpads as well, which are the ones I use most of the time. Even after using this headset for long hours, I felt no ear aches and sweats – which is pretty impressive.

However, as a gaming headset, these headphones are not meant for outdoor use. Therefore, it’s best not to use them while going for a morning jog outside.

Noise Isolation

Noise Isolation

As a gamer and tech content writer, I prefer no work distractions. Whether it’s writing a new article or try-harding on Rainbow Six: Siege – noise isolation is a must.

Here, the Logitech G Pro gaming headset has standard noise isolation. If you are using this headset out on the road, then you can expect some background noise, like car honks.

Moreover, if you are gaming in your room, blocking out chit chat of family members gets done efficiently. Therefore, since you will primarily use this for gaming in your room, you can expect good noise isolation. Take this outside, and you might be disappointed.

However, I realized that this headset leaks a lot of noise. On my bus ride back from work, the person beside me said he liked the song I was listening to (Metallica – Enter Sandman). It’s there I realized that there’s a significant amount of sound leaks, and others under 1 ft beside me can hear it too, once you increase the volume past the 70% mark.

Connectivity & Controls

Connectivity & Controls

Wireless headsets are all the rage in the market nowadays. This is why many prefer the Logitech G Pro X  wireless lightspeed gaming headset since that version has wireless connectivity. However, as an old-school gamer, I like wired headsets because of their lower latencies – perfect for multiplayer gaming.

The Logitech G Pro gaming headset has a 6.5 ft long cable, which is big enough for any desktop or laptop setup. Plus, it’s also big enough to connect to your PS4 and Xbox One controllers. Additionally, it has support for the Nintendo Switch as well. How thoughtful of Logitech!

Regarding controls, this headset has a few in-line controls. This includes a volume scroller and a mic on/off button. Judging by these controls, this is not meant to be used with smartphones, though you can.

Microphone Quality

Microphone Quality

The Logitech G Pro gaming headset has a high-quality detachable boom microphone. It’s a cardioid condenser mic. Therefore, it blocks off external noise and picks up your voice from a particular range.

Upon testing out this mic using Discord, I was surprised by how good it is. While playing a sweaty game of Rainbow Six: Siege with my friends, they exclaimed how good my mic sounded compared to other headsets I have tested. This includes the Logitech  G433 and the Astro A10.

Sound Quality

Sound Quality

Regarding its sound quality, the Logitech G Pro gaming headset does not disappoint. Whether you are listening to music, watching movies, or playing video games- it will always sound amazing.

While watching movies, I discovered how well this headset is equalized by default. The background music is clearly audible, along with the actors’ voices on screen. Liam Neeson’s voice in Taken 2 sounded gruff – which is how it should be.

While listening to music, I found the equalization out of the box somewhat set at the same level. The bass and the treble are neither too loud nor too soft compared to each other. Therefore, if you love to listen to bass-heavy music like Techno or hip-hop, you might want a headset with better bass.

However, the main area where the Logitech G Pro headset shines is in gaming. If you aspire to be a competitive eSports gamer, this gaming headset will be a good choice. It will help you distinguish each type of sound, including which direction it is coming from.

Therefore, if you love playing strategic eSports games like Rainbow Six: Siege, Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Fortnite, and more, this headset might help you go pro….

However, do not be disheartened if you primarily play single-player games. If you play games with atmospheric and cinematic music, this headset will work well for you. I had always enjoyed the background scores of games like DOOM: Eternal and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. I found this headset to be exceptional in this regard as well.

Final Verdict: Should Gamers Buy The Logitech G Pro Gaming Headset In 2023?

If you want to buy a gaming headset in 2023 for under $100, you can buy the Logitech G Pro gaming headset. It’s a fantastic gaming headset that you can get for $99.99. Although it’s not wireless, and its noise isolation and leakage capabilities are exceptional, it’s a still a pretty solidly built headset.
